World Heroes Anthology [PlayStation 2]

World Heroes Anthology from SNK Playmore for the Sony PS2 is the complete collection (on one disc) of one of SNK's most popular 2D fighting game series, World Heroes!

The titles included are World Heroes, World Heroes 2, World Heroes 2 Jet, and World Heroes Perfect. The collection contains 56 characters using hand-to-hand and weapons based fighting mixed with special super-human abilities enabling each character to perform special attacks.

World Heroes

World Heroes 2

The HEROES are back in their biggest and meanest battle ever, along with six new contestants! Travel through time and face an onslaught of opponents in an exciting, bruising battle of the ages!

World Heroes 2 Jet

World Heroes 2 Jet is the 3rd in the prolific fighting game series. Choose from 16 historical or well-known heroes, villains and fighters and battle your way to the top to become the world's greatest warrior!

There are two types of modes in this version, "Tournament of Titans Mode", where you fight three bouts in one day, and if you are successful you move on to the next day, and "World Heroes Training Mode", where you can fight with any opponent.

There are also four competition types to choose from, allowing for even more in-depth battles.

World Heroes Perfect

This is the fourth installment in the World Heroes fighting game series, released in 1995. In this game, 16 figures from across history fight for the title of the world's strongest.

In previous installments, the amount of time you held a button down determined the strength or weakness of an attack, but that system has been removed in this game.

In addition to a more orthodox fighting-game approach that enables weak, middle and strong attacks using different buttons, this game includes new elements such as the Hero Gauge, Extra Attacks and Guard Breaker Attacks, adding an exciting new layer of strategy.

Follow the storyline of Dr. Brown, a scientist, who having perfected a time machine has organized a fighting tournament throughout all of history to truly see who the best fighter of all time is. True to this plot many of the fighters are based on actual historical figures!
