Far across the icy tundra, the distant sounds of battle drums herald a new call to adventure. In the midst of the harshest winter in decades, the barbarian tribes have united under a mysterious new king and threaten to take up arms against the people of ten towns. Guided by the visions of a tribal shaman, the heroes of Kuldahar must journey to the secluded town of Lonelywood. There they must forestall the barbarian invasion by discovering the secret that lies locked within the frozen heart of winter.

A generation after the events in Icewind Dale, a grave new threat has arisen in the North; a threat that seeks to cut off the Ten-Towns from the rest of Faerun in a bitter power struggle. A vicious horde of goblins orcs and bugbears has gathered beneath the mysterious banner of the Chimera and is attacking the port town of Targos.

It is up to you to direct your small band of adventurers to save Targos from destruction. Yet nothing is as it appears and as the shadow of the horde falls or Targos, the players find themselves drawn into an escalating conflict that plunges the region of Icewind Dale once again, into war.
