150 years in the future, the 22nd century... Humans have succeeded in the theorization of controlling supernatural, infinite energy. However, in proportion to the advancement of culture, there were no signs of wars amongst humans subsiding. The worldwide conflicts could not be stopped, and killing through magical methods became extreme. It was through this that humans crated forbidden organic, living weapons using people and animals. This was the birth of strange living weapons with a strong lifeforce and attack strength - the "GEAR." While one nation attempted to take sole posession of these GEAR and suppress other nations, a GEAR with great strength and self-awareness emerged. She named herself "Justice." With the other GEAR under her command, she declared war on the humans. In response to this, the humans quickly united to form a unit to rise up against the GEAR - the "Sacred Order of the Holy Knights." Thus began the "Crusade."

The great war raged on for 100 years, and at the end of this battle, Justice was sealed away in a "Dimensional Prison," returning peace to the world. Five years following this war, fears of Justice returning through the deterioration of the barrier seals have gripped the world. Realizing the seriousness of the situation, the humans have decided to hold a tournament in order to select the next generation of the Sacred Order of the Holy Knights. While the wishes of the victor would be granted, the tournament would be brutal with entry granted to criminals and in-battle killing permitted.

One year had passed after Justice was defeated... A nation has revealed information about the appearance of a GEAR that is harmless to humans. The UN has set a bounty of five million dollars to whoever can dispose of this GEAR. While Sol was able to defeat the GEAR, Dizzy, he did not kill her. Still alive, the Jellyfish Pirates kept the GEAR under their protection. Jam Kuradoberi proceeds to collect the bounty under the false assumption that she has killed the GEAR, officially deeming them extinct. And so, the story continues...
