Description

The Gloomhaven: Forgotten Circles Board Game Expansion from Cephalofair Games, the first expansion for Gloomhaven, features twenty new scenarios that take place after the events of the original Gloomhaven campaign and involve one new character class - the Aesther Diviner - and her attempts to prevent an approaching calamity.

The accompanying scenario book breaks these scenarios up across multiple pages to create more dynamic and surprising encounters.

The expansion also features seven new monster types (including three new bosses) and fourteen new items.

Gloomhaven is a game of Euro-inspired tactical combat in a persistent world of shifting motives. Players will take on the role of a wandering adventurer with their own special set of skills and their own reasons for traveling to this dark corner of the world.

Players must work together out of necessity to clear out menacing dungeons and forgotten ruins. In the process, they will enhance their abilities with experience and loot, discover new locations to explore and plunder, and expand an ever-branching story fueled by the decisions they make.

This is a game with a persistent and changing world that is ideally played over many game sessions. After a scenario, players will make decisions on what to do, which will determine how the story continues, kind of like a “Choose Your Own Adventure” book. Playing through a scenario is a cooperative affair where players will fight against automated monsters using an innovative card system to determine the order of play and what a player does on their turn.

Each turn, a player chooses two cards to play out of their hand. The number on the top card determines their initiative for the round. Each card also has a top and bottom power, and when it is a player’s turn in the initiative order, they determine whether to use the top power of one card and the bottom power of the other, or vice-versa. Players must be careful, though, because over time they will permanently lose cards from their hands. If they take too long to clear a dungeon, they may end up exhausted and be forced to retreat.

Players will delve into twenty new scenarios that take place after the events of the original Gloomhaven campaign.

These new adventures will involve one new character class—the Aesther Diviner—and her attempts to prevent an approaching calamity.

The accompanying scenario book breaks up these scenarios across multiple pages to create more dynamic and surprising encounters.

Expansion also features seven new monster types (including three new bosses) and fourteen new items.

A mysterious diviner brings dark portents and terrifying new foes... Join her on a 20-scenario quest to explore the history of Gloomhaven and prevent a looming catastrophe, or enlist the Diviner's help in pursuing your own quests!

Features:

  • 1 Scenario Book with over 20 Adventures.
  • 1 New Playable Class, the Aesther Diviner.
  • 7 New Monster Types, including 3 Powerful Bosses.
  • New Locations, Items, Road Events, City Events, Rift Events and Unlockable Envelopes.

Great experience. I ordered 7 Youtooz vinyl figures from Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss. I had some requests regarding when items would be shipped, and splitting the in-stock and pre-order items. They were easily able to accommodate these requests, and I already received the 6 in-stock items without issue. Excellent customer service, highly recommend!

I highly recommend to buy games from this respectful company. Their customer service response time just unbeatable even compare to Amazon or other big retail company. Long story in short, I ordered wrong game for order cancellation, I thought most of reply template will be "Sorry to hear that, but order has been processed." But the customer service replied me under 15 min, and informed me the refund.

My purchase arrived in two days. I needed to follow up to confirm something and when I emailed their customer service I actually got a human with a name. We corresponded! It felt like I was talking to the owner and that he had time for me and really cared. These are the good guys and I need to remember to go to Shopville first when purchasing online.
