An American grandson of the infamous scientist, struggling to prove that his grandfather was not as insane as people believe, is invited to Transylvania, where he discovers the process that reanimates a dead body in the Young Frankenstein DVD.
The movie is a comedic homage to the classic Frankenstein story, and it follows the misadventures of Dr. Frederick Frankenstein, played by Gene Wilder, the grandson of the infamous Dr. Victor Frankenstein.
Dr. Frederick, a skilled neurosurgeon, is initially determined to distance himself from his family's dark legacy. However, after inheriting his family's estate in Transylvania, he is lured into continuing his grandfather's experiments in reanimating the dead. With the help of his eccentric and quirky lab assistant, Igor (played by Marty Feldman), and the alluring Inga (played by Teri Garr), Frederick embarks on a comedic and madcap journey to create a new monster (played by Peter Boyle).
As the experiment unfolds, chaos ensues, and the film is filled with slapstick humor, witty one-liners, and outrageous antics. Along the way, Frederick encounters a host of eccentric characters, including his stern housekeeper Frau Blücher (played by Cloris Leachman) and the hunchbacked lab assistant, Igor. The film cleverly parodies the original Frankenstein story while adding its own unique brand of humor!
