The White House issued an Executive Order suspending the de minimis tariff exemption starting August 29, 2025.What’s changing?
- The U.S. is ending the “de minimis” rule (the old $800 duty-free loophole).
- Shipments valued at $800 USD or less will no longer qualify for duty-free entry.
- This means all shipments into the U.S. may now be subject to duties/taxes, regardless of the order cost.
- Some carriers are also adjusting their services, which may cause delays.
Will this affect my order?
- Possibly. Shipments may be subject to duties, taxes, and brokerage fees, regardless of the order’s value or origin country.
- Shipping times may be impacted due to customs processing.
- All orders shipping to the U.S. will now go through U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP).
- For goods eligible under CUSMA/USMCA, proper paperwork will need to accompany the shipment.
